Artist Participation

Artist participation in Covington White Linen for Public Art can take place in a number of meaningful ways. Our downtown community is home to many working artists, galleries, and creative spaces that will be hosting exhibits, live demonstrations, receptions, and special art-focused experiences throughout the evening.

In addition to those downtown activations, three designated areas will be open to STAA member artists as art markets: Artist Alley, Under the Oaks at Boston Street, and the Covington Trailhead Pavilion. Artists wishing to participate in one of the art market areas should contact Maggy Case-Eymard at maggy@sttammany.art.

Covington White Linen for Public Art is a fundraiser created to celebrate the arts, support public art, and recognize the many artists who help make our community vibrant. To that end, we welcome artists of all kinds — visual artists, performing artists, musicians, digital artists, makers, and creative collaborators — to get involved.

There are many ways to participate, including volunteer opportunities, live demonstrations, pop-up exhibits, installations, performances, and other creative ways to showcase your work and help bring downtown Covington to life.

This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate the installation of Art Imitates Life, a major public art exhibition featuring the sculptures of Seward Johnson throughout downtown Covington. During White Linen, artists — and the public as a whole — are encouraged to interact with the artwork across town. Special performances, tableaus, creative interpretations, and public interactions with the sculptures will be featured as part of this year’s celebration.

Participating artists are encouraged to promote their involvement and invite collectors, patrons, friends, and family to attend this special evening supporting public art, local artists, and the creative spirit of downtown Covington.
